IT was a very good day for Luke, The Wonder Dog. He came into our lives 7 years ago. We adopted him for the shelter and they told us he was around 3 yrs old or so. According to the vet and the dentist at the vet he was really older than that when adopted him. I figure the youngest he is would be 12 and probably older than that.
TODAY he had a great day for an old man. Although it was 100 degrees at our house, he went for several walks and got to go out on the trail today. He got ahead of me and ate something he should not have eaten, but HE considers it a delicacy. YUCK! After screaming at him and running towards him, he moved on. He went over next to a fence and the wash and started chasing something, tail a wagging. He went on and on after chasing a big lizard, then he caught something and brought it to me. I yelled, "DROP IT!" He did. Let me say, I now know who killed cock robin! (He was so proud!)
I hope he sticks around for many more years, the great white hunter that he is!

I think human ideas of "what a dog should eat" are at odds with the canine ideals. Sadie loves cow poop and horse poop, the fresher the better. And why is it that after a dog has rolled in something dead and stinky, he comes bounding to you all happy, acting as though you ought to be proud of his new cologne?
